A WAY HOME IS A NATIONAL COALITION
Our goal is to inspire and enable communities and all levels of government to organize, plan and implement strategies to address youth homelessness in a coordinated, measurable and impactful way.
We believe that we need to move away from simply “managing” the problem of youth homelessness through emergency services and move towards a more proactive approach that focuses on prevention (stopping young people from becoming homeless in the first place) and helping those who are homeless move into housing with supports as rapidly as possible and in a safe and planned way.
A Way Home Peterborough
The purpose of the A Way Home Peterborough is to reduce youth homelessness in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough City and County, as outlined in the Four Year Plan.
We are positioning services providers and community members to increase their early identification efforts to better support youth at risk of homelessness; enhance education and supports for youth and their families, improve the system of care to minimize discharges into homelessness, and foster more housing options.

The goal of the A Way Home Peterborough collaborative group is to reduce youth homelessness by 25% in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough by 2021.
